Joelle Trayers has taught Kindergarten and 1st grade in Houston ISD for 20 years. Her passion is sharing ways to use Depth and Complexity as a foundation for critical thinking skills with students in early childhood. While some educators in the primary elementary grades shy away from using Depth and Complexity due to its perceived level of challenge, Joelle provides countless classroom-proven reasons why those teachers should be most eager to offer our youngest elementary students with opportunities to think in abstract, deep ways. She is the creator and author of the “Challenging Young Minds” blog, a teacher favorite with a wealth of information for primary elementary teachers.
