Supporting learners within a diverse classroom setting can be challenging. While teachers work with small groups of children, other students in the classroom need independent, rigorous and meaningful ways to interact with literature. Tiered Literacy Centers encourages independent thinking and meaningful responses to fiction and nonfiction literature through the use of creative and supportive task cards. There are more than 60 engaging, tiered Task Cards that are leveled to promote a range of critical thinking skills. Use them repeatedly with texts, books, magazines, and newspapers. Tiered Literacy Centers is ideal for readers who are at grade level, EL’s, gifted EL’s, and gifted students in mixed-ability classes. Center ideas and time management strategies are provided.
